Döllken Profiles raises sustainability standards
Core skirting boards and soft skirting boards now EPD certified
Döllken Profiles is once again setting standards in the field of ecological building products: the company's popular core skirting boards and soft moldings are now certified by an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an internationally recognized environmental label that is created on the basis of a comprehensive life cycle assessment (LCA). It documents the environmental impact of a product across all stages of its life cycle – from raw material extraction to manufacturing and use to disposal or recycling.
Specifically, Döllken Profiles' EPD reports values for:
- CO₂ footprint (global warming potential)
- Primary energy consumption (renewable & non-renewable)
- Resource and material efficiency
- Waste and emission balances
- Recyclability
Döllken Profiles thus provides planners, architects, and builders with objective data for sustainable construction projects and supports the certification of buildings according to standards such as DGNB, LEED, or BREEAM.
The EPD complements Döllken Profiles' already broad portfolio of environmental and quality certifications, including:
- Core skirting boards are certified with the Blue Angel label
- Almost all Döllken products are Greenguard Gold certified
- MDF/HDF cores, which are FSC or PEFC certified, HDF for thin KSL and MDF for thick KSL
- REACH-compliant, chlorine-free materials
- Made in Germany – short transport routes and high manufacturing standards
- High recycling content in many product lines
